Randy Unger

Founder & Principal Consultant

Randy didn't learn oil and gas production from a textbook. He built his expertise well by well, route by route- starting as a lease operator and working his way up to overseeing hundreds of wells across some of the most active producing regions in the U.S.

Over his career, Randy managed production across 900+ wells in the Barnett Shale and Permian Basin, led teams of foremen, operators, and field technicians, and developed LOE reduction strategies that saved operators tens of thousands of dollars per month- consistently beating targets for two full years running.

That hands-on background is what makes Peak Flow different. When Randy walks onto your lease, he's not guessing. He's seen these problems before, and he knows how to fix them fast.

  • 600+ Wells — Barnett Shale & Permian Basin

    • Oversaw all operations across 600 wells with a team of 8 foremen, 24 operators, and 10 field techs

    • Co-developed LOE reduction strategy- cut monthly costs from $130K to under $90K and sustained it for 24 consecutive months

    • Launched in-house programs: chemical techs, construction crew, saltwater transfer techs, compressor optimization

  • 650 Wells — Barnett Shale / 150 Wells — Ozona, TX

    • Oversaw 5 production areas, 150–200 wells each — ranging from 8 mcfd to 3.5 mmcfd

    • Supervised 75+ lease operators; developed and delivered operator training programs

    • Monitored SCADA multiple times daily; ran routes personally to address issues and optimize wells

    • Led weekly, monthly, and quarterly production and LOE reviews, compression optimizations, and construction projects

  • Where it all started

    • Learned production from the ground up -running routes, troubleshooting wells, and mastering field operations firsthand
